We wanted to share some insights on the U.S. Election.  At the time of posting, uncertainty surrounds who will be the next U.S. president. The markets are reacting positively despite this uncertainty.  To gain further insight we have compiled a few pieces below.

Janet Engels, Head of the Portfolio Advisory Group – U.S., and Tylar Lunke, Senior Manager of Managed Portfolio Strategies at RBC Wealth Management, talk about how the markets have handled this wild week and what they’re watching as the election outcome remains in a bit of no-man’s land. They also discuss the implications of what appears to be a status quo Congress, and where investors should focus their attention. Listen to the podcast  The U.S. has voted - what's next?

With votes still to be counted in key swing states with razor-thin margins, it looks like things are just beginning to get sorted out. But the equity market has been taking things in stride. Read the  Election reaction to understand why investors should do the same.

Eric Lascelles, Chief Economist, RBC Global Asset Management shares his insights in 2020 U.S. election proves a tight race

We hope to have further clarity next week and will send our thoughts once we are certain about the results.
