Howard Tingley - BBA,  Vice President, Portfolio Manager & Wealth Advisor

Howard’s love for investments and business led him to the University of New Brunswick where he completed his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 1985, focusing on finance and accounting. Since his start in the investment industry in 1990, Howard has continually invested in his business and himself by taking various industry courses, including the Canadian Securities Course, Conduct & Practices Handbook and the Canadian Insurance Course. In 2009, Howard completed the Partners, Directors and Senior Officers course and became a Vice President at RBC Dominion Securities. In 2012, Howard completed his Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) designation and Portfolio Manager designation, and is now a Wealth Advisor. Over the years, Howard’s philosophy of conservative advice and protection of capital has appealed to a discerning clientele—prudent investors with substantial portfolio assets. Howard is committed to a strong investment discipline and stresses that a balanced, diversified approach will serve to reduce risk and enhance returns over time. Howard has built a well-deserved reputation among his peers as having strong values and integrity, and who is deeply committed to his clients’ best interests. Howard’s main role within the team is managing the day-to-day operations of the business to ensure that his clients’ financial interests are being managed and serviced to the highest degree. He also enjoys developing long-term relationships with his clients, and working closely with them to ensure they have peace of mind.
 
When not at work, Howard’s main focus is, of course, his family and home. Although his four children are mostly grown and he has a two-year-old granddaughter, Howard and his wife Denise look forward to family gatherings during the holidays and vacations. They enjoy camping, skiing and travelling as a family. His property is a work in process, and it seems that he usually has bigger plans for his gardens and lawns than there is time to manage. Howard enjoys being active and spends his time hiking, mountain biking, road cycling, fishing, hunting, skiing, snowshoeing and golfing, to name a few.

 

Jeff Mahoney -  Associate Advisor , CA, CFP , CIM

Jeff joined the Tingley Group of RBC Dominion Securities in 2005 after being employed for six years in the tax and audit group of a major accounting firm in Moncton. Jeff began his financial career after graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Saint Mary's University.  He then went on to achieve his Chartered Accountant (CA) designation in 2003, and by 2005 he completed the "In-Depth Tax Program" offered by the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants. Jeff also holds his Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation and his Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) designation. 

Jeff's main role within the team is to oversee the portfolio investment management process for our clients and helping clients work through all aspects of wealth management by focusing on financial planning as well as planning for insurance and estates.  Jeff is very enthusiastic towards helping our clients achieve their financial goals. Jeff's educational background and past experience, combined with our firms resources, enable him to help clients get the most after-tax retirement income from the savings they have created.

Jeff and his wife Caitlin have two young children at home, Ella and Ben. On summer weekends, you will likely find them at Caitlin's home farm in PEI. Whenever there happens to be a spare moment in this busy household, you will likely find Jeff doing some form of physical activity.

 

Philippe Cyr - Associate Advisor & Financial Planner , CFP

Phil has been employed with RBC since 2000 and joined RBC Dominion Securities from the RBC Royal Bank Mountain Road branch in 2013 where he worked as a Financial Planner for several years. A big part of his role there was to develop financial plans for his clients, manage their investments, assist in their credit needs, and look after all of their day-to-day banking.

Phil's main role within the team is the day-to-day investment management of client portfolios and helping clients work through all aspects of wealth management, including financial planning as well as estate planning. Fluently bilingual, he can serve you in both official languages.

Born and raised in a small community in Northern New Brunswick, Phil moved to the Moncton area in 1996 and now lives in Dieppe with his family. A proud father of two boys, Caleb and Nico, he enjoys spending time with them and playing a variety of sports, but most of the time they can be found at the rinks playing and following the game of hockey. In the early hours of the morning, Phil can also be found at Crossfit YQM enjoying his newest passion. Phil is also very active with community events and fundraisers, quick to lend a helping hand. Phil has been an active member of the Dieppe Rotary club since 2005 and was honored with a Paul Harris Fellowship Award in 2010 for demonstrating in his life and vocation a commitment to helping persons in need.

 

Angela Stuart - Associate

Angela has been employed in various roles with RBC since 1995. Prior to joining the Tingley Group of RBC Dominion Securities, she worked as an Investment Representative at RBC Contact Centre in Moncton, where she developed a wealth of knowledge and experience. Angela graduated from NBCC Moncton with a business diploma in marketing. She has also completed various industry courses such as the Canadian Securities Course and the Conduct & Practices Handbook.

Angela joined the Tingley Group of RBC Dominion Securities in 2004. Today, Angela's main role within the team is proactive client services such as ensuring portfolio reviews occur on an ongoing basis, updating investment policy statements, overseeing Tax-Free Savings Account and RRSP contributions, etc. She also looks after some of the day-to-day investment management of some client portfolios. Throughout Angela's tenure with the team she has developed strong relationships with our clients as they have come to appreciate her ability to follow through with their requests.

Angela and her husband Dara have two children, Andrea and Connor. In the Winter months you can usually find Angela in a hockey rink cheering on her favorite player. In the Summer months her adventures lead to hiking in our National Parks or walking our beautiful beaches. 

 

Jessica Berry -  Associate

Jessica joined the Tingley Group in July 2015 after being employed in various roles within the Financial Industry since 2003 where she gained a wealth of knowledge through her experience in different roles. Jessica has completed various industry courses such as the Canadian Securities Course, Conduct and Practices Handbook & Wealth Management Essentials. Jessica is currently working towards her Certified Financial Planner designation.

Jessica’s key roles as an Associate is taking care of detailed requests and enquiries for our clients such as providing financial projections, RSP calculations, performs stock and market research and follows up on actionable items discovered in clients Financial Plans and Will and Estate reviews. She looks after maintaining the website and semi-annual newsletter. Jessica also takes care of sending tax information throughout the year to meet corporate year end deadlines. Jessica will also be looking after some of the relationships we have with families. Jessica is honoured and excited to be a part of the Tingley Group. Her passion and dedication for the client experience and connecting with people will shine as she strives towards building trusting and long term relationships with our clients.

Outside of the office Jessica enjoys the small and meaningful moments in life that she shares with family and friends. Jessica loves to travel and enjoys experiencing new places.  In the summer months she spends as much time as she can near the water, learning how to garden, or out walking in the local trails.  To keep her active during the winter Jessica has found a new passion for downhill skiing. On a rainy day, when Jessica is not outside, she often enjoys some quiet time alone reading a good book or writing her own thoughts onto paper as it is a personal dream of hers to have something published one day.

 

Joe Linthorne - Associate

Joe has been employed with RBC since 1995. Prior to joining RBC Dominion Securities in 2005, Joe worked for 10 years as an Investment Representative at the RBC Contact Centre in Moncton. Joe received his Bachelor of Commerce degree from Saint Marys University in 1993, and completed the Canadian Securities Course and Conduct & Practices Handbook in 2005.

Joe joined the Tingley Group of RBC Dominion Securities in April 2016, and brings with him years of sound knowledge and experience of the associate role.

Joes main role with the team will focus on assisting Jeff and Philippe with day-to-day trade transactions related to their portfolio investment management process, as well as helping clients with their administrative inquiries, generating reports and proposals.

Joe and his wife Jennifer reside in Riverview with their two boys, Brandon and Zachery. From fall to spring you can usually find Joe in a gym coaching his boys basketball teams. In the summer months, Joe enjoys going on canoe and fishing trips, and likes to spend time camping and relaxing at the beach with his family.

 

Melanie Price - Administrative Assistant

Melanie started her career with RBC in 2005. She spent the first 7 years of her career at the RBC Contact Centre in Moncton as an Investment Representative. Prior to joining the Tingley Group in July 2017, she supported a team of RBC Financial Planners across New Brunswick as a Financial Planning Associate. 

Melanie received her diploma in Business Management with a focus in Accounting from Oulton College in 2004. She is currently working on obtaining her Canadian Securities Course as well as the Conduct & Practices Handbook.

One of Melanie’s key roles on the team is to be the primary point of contact with our clients, daily managing of clients’ needs, fulfilling varied requests and acting as a liaison with the firm’s back-office department. Melanie is committed to providing an exceptional client experience and is looking forward to building long-term relationships with our clients. As she is fluently bilingual, she can provide service in both our official languages, English and French.

Melanie and her husband Dennis enjoy spending the summers at their trailer in Cap-Pele with their two young sons, Evan and Nolan. They are fortunate to be surrounded by many friends and family members at their trailer. They also enjoy travelling to Corner Brook, NL to visit Dennis’ family.
